Scottish Government framework agreement

Dawn Griesbach is working with colleagues, Cathy Sharp and Anne Birch, under the auspices of Research for Real, on a Scottish Government framework agreement for consultation analysis in the area of Equalities and Poverty.

Under this framework agreement, Cathy, Anne and Dawn were chosen by the Scottish Government to carry out an analysis of responses to a consultation the Devolution of Community Care Grants and Crisis Loans.

Independent review of Alcohol Focus Scotland

Following a competitive tendering process, the Scottish Government have commissioned Griesbach & Associates (Dawn Griesbach and Audrey Mistry) to carry out an independent review of Alcohol Focus Scotland. This is part of a rolling programme of reviews (carried out every six years) of voluntary sector organisations that receive grant funding from the Scottish Government. The review is being carried out between October and December 2011, and will report early in 2012.

Impact evaluation of the Choose Life training programme

On 23 June, Dawn Griesbach presented the key findings of an impact evaluation of the Choose Life Training programme to an audience of mental health practitioners and service planners. This work was carried out with associate, Patricia Russell.

Equally Connected Learning Review published by Health Scotland

NHS Health Scotland has published a “learning review” of their Equally Connected Programme carried out by Jacki Gordon and Dawn Griesbach. Equally Connected aims to identify how to improve access to primary care mental health services for people from black and minority ethnic (BME) communities.

Final report of the Crieff Community Survey

The Crieff and Upper Strathearn Partnership (CUSP) are launching the results from the Crieff Community Survey at a meeting at the Crieff Hydro on Tuesday, 23 November.   Presentations by John Champion (CUSP) and Dawn Griesbach (Griesbach & Associates) will be followed by discussion about the way forward.   The discussion will be led by Jim Mather, the Scottish Government’s Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism.

Community survey in Crieff

Griesbach & Associates will be assisting the Crieff and Upper Strathearn Partnership (CUSP) and Perth & Kinross Council to carry out a survey of a representative sample of the residents of Crieff. The purpose of the survey is to get the views of people who live and work in Crieff about options for improving the town centre. The survey will happen during August – September.

Guidelines for Injecting Equipment Provision services published

Today the Scottish Government published a set of national guidelines for services providing injecting equipment to injecting drug users.   These guidelines will play a key role in the Scottish Government’s strategy to reduce the spread of Hepatitis C.  The guidelines were drafted by Dawn Griesbach, working together with Professor Avril Taylor (University of the West of Scotland), and a group of 18 experts in the field.

Impact evaluation of the Choose Life Training programme

In 2007-08, Griesbach & Associates carried out a major national evaluation of ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).  We have now been commissioned to carry out an evaluation of the impact of the wider Choose Life suicide prevention training programme, including ASIST, STORM and safeTALK.  The evaluation has been funded by NHS Health Scotland.  Dawn will be working with associate, Patricia Russell, on this project.
